Feeling empty

Is it spring or is it just me?

Everything that happens-does it happen for a reason?

Inner peace is when...

If you happen to be in pain-you know it´s for a good reason. Like running for example.
If you know me-and i really hope you do- if you are reading this blog- you know that running is a big part of me. I am used to some people hate running and not understand why would i want to put myself through "it". I can not find a better explanation than this one ,written by Anton Krupicka, an American Mountain Ultra- Runner from Nebraska. He is famous for looking like Jesus and running in minimalist  clothing: a pair of shorts and some barefoot shoes. Read it-i promise it´s worth it.  While you are reading, in bold, i will mark those sentences that i consider to be my answer on the question :" Why do i run".

Our actions — sincere or not — ultimately define us. This moral hints at a very large part of my motivation as a mountain runner. Daily, I want to live an authentic life—one that feels real and true — and the most trusted authenticity and beauty I know of is the kind that is found in the mountains and the natural world in general.

This type of authenticity — the kind that I have decided feels authentic for me, at least — however, is not an easy thing to achieve in our complicated modern society. For better or for worse, when one lives in a town or city, one lives in a built world. This world offers many distractions and comforts that I have come to enjoy quite a lot — libraries, coffee shops, bookstores, cafes, markets, high-speed Internet, etc. — but the fact remains that these things are all constructs that humans have imposed on an otherwise pristine landscape in order to keep themselves entertained and occupied.

Perhaps the problem with this is that, when I am mired amongst all of these material and intellectual pursuits, I ultimately feel a lack of an underlying foundation of pure, unadulterated action or being. A stimulating novel or a smooth road might both be nice, but neither feel real to me in the most rigorous sense of the word, when compared to say, running through a grove of ponderosa pine trees or beneath a gigantic slab of sandstone turned on end by some ages-old tectonic force.

And so that most fundamental authenticity or reality is what running in the mountains provides for me on a daily or twice-daily basis. Without it, I have — unfortunately, based on past experience — gone completely mad. But even more importantly, I have found that this engaging with the natural world is, over time, very instructive. Running in the mountains creates a space — through silence, openness, a removal from distractions — in which I can come to know myself and explore myself.

And i want to add, running is the best meditation i know. It takes some time to find your best breathing technique but once you did-running becomes a real pleasure. I don´t care how far or how fast i run- running is all about enjoying the moment. Today i had to visit a dentist-and on the way back home-i felt like running-i ended up running 5 miles. Good thing i had my running shoes on. I found some old weights,i think they might be from the 80-s. Really old -school!  Nice weather, balcony, why not work on my biceps a little bit?

Reading Somebody´s Mind

Reading somebody´s mind= Understanding the matter of things

Have you ever wished that you could figure out certain people? Get to the bottom of the topic and really understand "what is the other person really thinking" while he is speaking or giving you a feedback about the work you have done or your idea?  Well, there is a trick!

The use of pronouns( i,you,me,we, they etc)  can reveal a fascinating insight into someone´s true thoughts and feelings. Let´s say: You are talking to your boss and you ask him/her what she/he thinks of your new idea and she responds by saying " I like it", you have a higher probability of truthfulness. If she/she says " It´s nice" ,the boss doesn´t take ownership of her sentence and may not believe in what she/he(the boss)  is saying. In that case, to really figure out what is the other person really thinking- you should sum up all the coming feedback and see if the person is using many pronouns(that is good!) or it´s just a bunch or impersonal words like" It´s nice", " "Great Job", "Interesting approach"- they say the other person doesn´t really put that much trust in your idea.

There is in particular one word you should be wanting to hear and it is a word : WE. Even if it´s followed by some impersonal statement. This word has a wonderful power- it refers to a high level of psycological closeness and certainly means that the other person believes in you and would want to collaborate/invest in your idea. Example : " You did a great job,Anders, we can make it work", " Great idea,Anna, we can certainly achieve success with this method" .
And now some observation i made in Sweden:
In Swedish there is a certain word - "Man" -which translated in English, besides meaning "man"-"a male ", might also mean "one". Swedes love using this word. Here is an example why its better to drop this word :  Man är trött på måndagar- Which means : "One is tired on Mondays"( there is no even such a phrase in English) Ok,what do we learn from here : That a certain "one" ( in that case probably you, since its you who pronounces the phrase) is tired on Mondays. Why not say " I am tired on Mondays"- "Jag är trött på måndagar" Why not make it personal and more close for the other person? In my opinion, speech is given to humans to be able to communicate- to build a bridge of communication to another person by expressing how we feel.  So let´s not half communicate-let´s say what we have to say and let´s stand for it.
Have a great day!  Here is a great video,have a look,it´s only 1min 48 sec long

Confidence=Freedom

How often do we deal with people that we may refer to as" egoistic"," not seing anything/anyone other then himself/herself" or person that all he/she talk about is "me,me,me". Sometimes we hate them ,but we should actually feel sorry for them. You know why?
Did you know that the less self-esteem a person has,the greater his ego and the greater his concern with what others may think of him ,as well as his own preocupation with performance ?
So do we actually want to live our life by constantly being preocupied about what "others" think about us? No,thanks! I want to be confident.  And confidence achieves through finding the inner peace. Living in peace with yourself- is the highest grade of being free.

What is "inner peace". I don´t know what is inner peace for you but for me it is:
1) Being able to look forward to wake up and looking forward to start a new day
2) Being comfortable with being me and not think too much whether i look good, sound good or whether what people around me think when i come across
3) Finding what i love to do and stick to it,despite the weather, economy, my mood or other factors from the outside
4) Finding what i love to do and to be able to make money doing it(that´s a hard one!)
5) Having people in my life that are not afraid of saying what they think

What about you? What is inner peace for you? Have you reached it?
Have a great day !
I see that i haven´t been here for 3 years. Wow, time goes by so fast! And i can think of at least 10 huge things that happened to me in those 3 years. One of my Top 10- My daughter, Shara Katerina, was born on february 21 in 2010. That made me a happy proud mom, despite of gaining 12 extra kilos :% That i´m still trying to get rid of!
